The overall goal of this pilot project is to strengthen the institutional Capacity of Kabale Municipality Development in order to mobilize local and external resources and assets as a way of strengthening community voice as well as strengthen the capacities of Local Community Development Associations
The Specific Objectives include
- a) To encourage people in Kabale Municipality to drive their own development initiatives
- b) To unlock philanthropic resources and assets within and across different parts of Kabale Municipality.
- c) To strengthen the institutional capacity of Kabale Municipality Development Foundation (KMDF) including its community outreach, grantmaking expertise, governance and management structures and sustainability
KMDF will work with a rich and diverse group of representatives from communities, local non-profits, regional foundations, government, funding partners, the private sector and academia among others whom we shall share lessons with, deliberate and foster conversations on effective and people-led sustainable approaches to development.
Project activities will include conducting research on Local Giving in Kabale Municipality, community consultations and strengthening the institutional capacity of Kabale Municipality Development Foundation. KMDF will produce a report as a result of the Research it will conduct on local giving in Kabale Municipality and will organize a Dissemination Seminar during which it will share information that will be collected through research on local giving in Kabale Municipality.
