Elected Leaders Forum (ELF)
KMDF will work with all elected leaders in Kabale Municipality. These include; Elected leaders at LC V level, Elected leaders at LC VI Level, Elected Leaders at LCIII Level. Elected leaders will include members of Parliament, Local Council Chairpersons and Councilors. In order to work well with this interest group, KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Elected Leaders Forum that will work to bring together all elected leaders in Kabale Municipality to serve the electorates with a Common goal
Community Leaders Forum (CLF)
There are many community groups led by wise women, men and youth. These Community groups have different aims and objectives. Some are engaged in save and credit services but they have limited resources for meeting their needs. These groups are not well coordinated and some of them are not well organized. KMDF will work with these groups in order to enable them realize their objectives. In order to effectively work with these groups, KMDF will establish Independent Planning and Development Committees in the 74 villages of Kabale Municipality. These committees will coordinate the activities of the Community Groups and ensure that community groups are well organized and facilitated as a way of ensuring community Development.
Youth Forum (YF)
This interest group includes youth both in formal and informal sector. They include unemployed youth as well as Students in schools and higher institutions of learning. Youth in Kabale Municipality in Particular and Kabale District in general are not well mobilized and coordinated. As a result, they miss out on important development opportunities brought about by government and Development Partners. Recently KMDF conducted a survey to find out how many youth know about the Youth Livelihood Programme under the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development only to find out that less than 20% of the youth in Kabale Municipality know about this pogramme. To mobilize resources for the youth and work for their empowerment, KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Youth Forum for all the Youth aged between 18-35years in Kabale Municipality. Forum members will continue to network and advocate for the promotion of youth interests and rights in Kabale Municipality. The Youth Forum will have elected committees in each of the Parishes of Kabale Municipality. In order to unite the Youth, KMDF will support Kabale Municipality Football for Unity League that will be used to mobilize youth to participate in development initiatives.
Boda Bodas Forum (BBF)
Boda bodas, or motorcycle taxis, are one of the main forms of transport in Kabale Municipality. Most of the Boda Bodas are youth. However, Boda Bodas are not consulted during planning processes. Boda Bodas are not well coordinated and mobilized. As a result, this interest group continues to miss out on development opportunities brought about Government and development partners. In addition the costs of buying one and starting own business are high. As a first step towards working for the empowerment of Boda Bodas, KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Boda Boda Forum to bring together all Boda Bodas. KMDF will then lobby for the support of Boda Bodas using the Forum. The Forum will operate under the guidance of Boda Boda Committees at the Parish, Division and Constituency level elected by members
Taxi and Lorry Drivers Forum (TLDF)
There are many Tax and Lorry Drivers in Kabale Town who also support development efforts in the Municipality. These also provide a range of services including transport services. However, there is no known Forum that brings them together to discuss the challenges they face during the course of their work. They also don’t have any mechanism for utilizing opportunities that are available in public and Private Sector. As a first step, KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Tax and Lorry Drivers Forum with elected Committee at the Constituency Level. The Committee will provide leadership to the Forum and work towards the success of the Forum.
Business Community Forum (BCF)
There are many Business men and women engaged in business in Kabale Municipality. Some are involved in petty trade, others have small businesses, yet others ran medium and large scale business. While all these are businessmen and women regardless of the size they are involved in, they are not well coordinated and when for example a Municipal council passes a Policy not conducive for the business Community, they suffer because they don’t have anything like an association that brings all the Business Community in Kabale Municipality together. As a result, the Capacity of the Business Community to do lobbying is limited. KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Business Council with Committees at Parish, Division and Constituency levels. The role of the Business Council will be to provide alternative Policies to the Municipal Council and will work to ensure the well being of businessmen and women in Kabale Municipality.
Religious Leaders Forum (RLF)
Uganda is constitutionally a secular state and does not have a national religion. The constitution also allows all eligible Ugandans, regardless of their religious status, to participate in politics and stand for political office. Amidst this, discrimination, religious-based campaigns and growing sectarianism in Kabale are common. There is need to promote unity and interfaith dialogue among citizens of Kabale Municipality. As a first step of promoting unity, KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Religious Leaders Forum and work with the forum for the unity and development of all the people in the Municipality regardless of religious affiliations.
People with Disabilities Forum (PWDF)
There are many People with Disabilities in Kabale Municipality but unfortunately they are divided due to political differences and hence this disunity cannot allow them to effectively do collective lobbying. As a result, PWDs continue to miss out on development Opportunities. KMDF intends to establish Kabale Municipality People with Disabilities Forum with a Committee spearheading the management of the Forum. Like any other initiatives that will be established, KMDF will support this Forum by lobbying resources for them a way of working for the empowerment of People with Disabilities in Kabale Municipality.

Journalists Forum (JF)
Journalists play a big role in having an informed citizenry through production and dissemination of independent news and information. However, journalists struggle to ensure citizens have the ability to learn about economic, political, and social issues facing their communities. Journalists in Kabale Municipality are not united. KMDF will support the efforts of journalists in as far as production and dissemination of independent news are concerned. KMDF will establish Kabale Municipality Journalists Forum and support them in order to increase Access to Credible News and Information, build the Professional Capacity of the Next Generation of News Managers and Promote Independent Media Sector Development
Musicians and Artists Forum (MAF)
Today, there are many young musicians and artists who engaged in a series of production and distribution projects. Their work provides opportunities for cultural expression and dialogue and flow of information at the community level. They enable residents of rural communities to have more direct exposure to other cultures, races, religions, and lifestyles. They contribute towards promotion of dialogue and understanding among different cultures. KMDF is supporting their efforts. KMDF has established Kabale Municipality Musicians and Artists Forum and is providing them several opportunities like training that will enable them to gain skills and knowledge in local content production and Distribution. Over the past 4 years, KMDF's brightly painted storefront has become an integral part of its neighborhood, and a focal point for community members to get to know each other and develop self-esteem and pride. KMDF has made the arts a vehicle for empowering the area's residents and developing a local sense of community.
Mechanics and Garage Operators Forum (MGOF)
In Kabale Town, there are many Garages which employ many people majority of whom are youth. However, these mechanics and garage operators lack a forum to bring them together to work for their development. While there might be opportunities for development from Government and Development Partners that might be interested in supporting such a group, mechanics and Garage Operators are divided. As a result, they cannot easily tap resources and opportunities that may be available. KMDF will establish Mechanics and Garage Operators Forum to bring together all mechanics and Garage Operators in Kabale Municipality in order to work for development
